Wanna Give Your Heart a Break

So the job I turned down...well, the guy emailed me and asked me if we could talk about it some more. Apparently they really need me, and the offer isn't AWFUL anymore, after the negotiations. But I still can't bring myself to promise him I'll be around for a while, and that makes me feel uncertain.

I've got a few other places looking at me right now anyway, and one is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which isn't too shabby. There's an apartment complex there that's New York style, and has huge windows overlooking the cityscape in the more urban areas.

Meanwhile, I've been sick for the past few days. Sadness.

We're starting gathering things for a garage sale here, since Mom doesn't have a job right now and I'm still at home and I don't yet either. I'm also occupying my time when I'm not doing that or applying to jobs by planning for my future apartment. It keeps me entertained. So far I've researched apartments, thought about what furniture I'll need, what I have and what I need to buy, and cheap renovation ideas for rentals. Plus I'm designing a cookbook. :)

It gives me something to do, at least. I was going batshit there for a while with nothing to do here. I haven't been on myyearbook in ages because it was too much drama and there are people I'm wanting to avoid. It makes me feel a bit lonelier but it's worth the tradeoff because I wasn't happy with anyone I met there. I wasn't happy with myself, and I wasn't happy with the drama.

Idk how I'm supposed to meet people now, though. I'm out of school...how do people meet people when they're out of school?

Yes. My family actually discussed this at dinner. Granted, it didn't start out with me. We were deciding couple names for other people in our family and I sort of made the joke myself. Laughing at yourself makes it easier, don't it? O.o

Man, my back and neck are killing me...

And to add to my distress, my parents have decided to impose a wake-up time on me. Although I don't see the purpose of this, seeing as I'm allowed to go back to bed once I'm done with like three chores. Why I MUST do chores at 9:30 instead of noon makes little to no sense to me. Is anyone seeing a difference here?




There are people who make things happen, there are people who watch things happen, and there are people who wonder what happened. To be successful, you need to be a person who makes things happen.


Letting go is much easier said than done. You grow to love someone and letting them go is like losing a part of you. Whenever you know you must let go because it's what's best for you, you keep thinking of reasons to stick around. I know what I must do. It's not going to be easy and it'll take time for me to completely let go, but it's what I need to do.

These times are hard, but they will pass.

I don’t know why we all hang on to something we know we’re better off letting go. It’s like we’re scared to lose what we really don’t even have. Some of us say we’d rather have something than nothing at all, but the truth is… to have something half way is harder than not having it at all.

In one moment your entire life can change course. It’s the moment that you decide where you’re going because you refuse to go back to where you’ve been.

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, stumble, and fall because most of the time the greatest rewards come from doing things that scare you the most. Maybe you’ll get more than you ever imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the destination.
